We’re here to help you get the care you need. You can contact The Hollies Surgery online, by telephone or at reception.
Telephone: 01366 310301
Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, excluding bank holidays.
Request a routine appointment
For a health concern that is not urgent, you can:
- Use our online consultation service, Accurx.
- Call 01366 310301 during opening hours.
- Speak to our reception team at the surgery.
Please tell us what you need help with and include any information that may help us understand your concern.
Our team will review your request and let you know what happens next. This may be an appointment, advice or help from another appropriate service.
For online requests, we will tell you what happens next within one working day. This does not necessarily mean your appointment will take place within that time.
If you cannot use the internet or need help making a request, please call us or speak to reception.
If you need urgent help today
Call 01366 310301 during opening hours and tell our reception team that your concern is urgent.
We will ask for some information to help the clinical team assess how quickly you need care and arrange the appropriate next step.
Please do not use a routine online request for a problem that needs urgent attention.
Call 999 for a life-threatening emergency.
Why reception asks about your concern
Our reception team may ask a few questions about your symptoms or the help you need.
This helps us understand the urgency of your request and direct you to the most appropriate member of the healthcare team. Your information is treated confidentially.
You do not always need to see a GP. Depending on your needs, another healthcare professional may be able to help.
Your appointment
Appointments may take place at the surgery or by telephone. Some concerns can also be managed through advice sent by text.
Please tell us if you would prefer a particular clinician or appointment type. We will try to accommodate your preference, taking account of your clinical needs and availability.
If your concern relates to ongoing treatment, let us know who you have been seeing so we can support continuity of care where possible.
Help with your appointment
Please tell us when making your request if you:
- Need an interpreter.
- Have hearing, sight, speech or other communication needs.
- Need information in a different format.
- Need extra support because of a disability or health condition.
- Would like a carer or someone you trust to support you.
We will discuss the support and adjustments you need.
Evening and Saturday appointments
Additional appointments are available through Swaffham & Downham Primary Care Network.
Depending on the appointment, you may be seen at another local surgery or offered a telephone consultation.
Ask our reception team about availability. We will confirm the clinician, appointment time, location and any instructions when booking.
These appointments must be booked in advance.
Home visits
If you are housebound or too unwell to attend the surgery, please call 01366 310301, preferably before 10:30am, to request a home visit.
A clinician will assess your request and may telephone you first. They will decide whether a home visit is needed and how urgently you need care.
If you become unwell later in the day, please still contact us. Do not wait until the following morning to ask for urgent help.
Change or cancel an appointment
If you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment to another patient.
Call 01366 310301 during opening hours. You may also be able to cancel through the NHS App or your GP online account if the appointment is shown there.
Please contact reception if you need to rearrange your appointment.
Could a pharmacy help?
Your local pharmacy can provide advice and treatment for many common health problems. Some conditions can also be assessed through the NHS Pharmacy First service.
A pharmacist can explain whether they can help or whether you need another healthcare service.
You do not need to see a pharmacist before contacting us if you are concerned about your health.
When the surgery is closed
If you need urgent medical help that is not a life-threatening emergency, call 111 or use NHS 111 online.
NHS 111 can assess your needs and direct you to the appropriate service, including an out-of-hours GP where needed.
For a child under 5, call 111 rather than using the online symptom service.
For a life-threatening emergency, call 999.
